Difference between Google Panda, Penguin and Hummingbird

When we talk about SEO, words like google panda, penguin, and hummingbird are often heard in the ears. Even these 3 police icon figures for the google search engine are very much feared by webmasters. The background behind the launch of the Google Police 3 was based on Google’s commitment to building a SERP as accurately as possible without any fraud. Previously, Google was not as smart as now in ranking all indexed sites so that there were lots of cheatings committed by webmasters who were usually referred to as Black hat SEO. Therefore, in this post, let us talk about google panda, penguin & hummingbird and what differences underlie these 3 google police.

Google Panda

Google Panda was launched for the first time in February 2011 which aims to lower the ranking of low-quality websites/blogs such as copy and paste blogs, AGC websites, keyword stuffing, content-poor blogs, and so on. When it was first launched, it was able to lower the ranking and even penalize 12% of blogs/websites indexed on the google search engine. Until now, the panda has been updated 8 times, with the latest version of panda (4.2). It has even deeper filtering regarding which websites are of high quality and which websites are of low quality. That’s why many SEO experts today are warning all webmasters to create content that’s original, unique, engaging, informative, and engaging.

Google Penguin

For years, Google has made backlinks one of the most dominant factors in determining SERPs on its search engines. Therefore, there are lots of webmasters who cheat by buying thousands of backlinks per day, using backlink generators, link exchange, hidden backlinks, and other black hat SEO games. This is what causes many web spams to be scattered on search engines. Therefore, on April 24, 2012, Google launched Penguin to identify and even de-index all fraudulent web spams in building link building. when it was first launched google penguin has managed to penalize webspam by 10% of the total web indexed in search engines. In fact, until now Penguin has been updated 6 times with the final version of Penguin 3.

However, for those of you who have been penalized by penguins, then don’t worry because according to Matt Cutts, head of the google webspam department, stated that the penalty from google penguin can be removed by removing all the schematic links that have been created and starting again by building quality links…

Google Hummingbird

Google Hummingbird was launched to coincide with Google’s 15th birthday on 17 September 2013. With the launch of Hummingbird, search engines were more oriented towards content than meta tag keywords. That is why Matt Cutts, through the google webmaster channel, stated that Google no longer cares about meta tag keywords and will not include them as a SERP factor. So in this hummingbird era, it is hoped that all webmasters will create keywords that are more content-oriented or better known as LSI keywords. In addition, Hummingbird will also rate a website from social media signals, length of visitors to visit, bounce rate, and brand-oriented niche.

So the point is that we as webmasters are obliged to comply with all the rules they have created, read one by one the TOS from google, and don’t forget to always monitor updates from the 3 Google police above so that blogs/websites that are tired we build are not subject to a penalty in the future for the creation of a better blog future.
